Julia is an author and mentor. She loves YA lit that makes her think and feel. Her writing is about finding faith, identity, and a sense of humor on this wild ride of life. She also mentors teens—all of whom inspire her to keep writing, laughing, and to never act her age.
Julia graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and serves in the Youth and Family Ministry. She resides in the Chicago suburbs with her dashing husband, cuddly kitty and gallant Friesian horse.

The dream to connect girls and horses appeared while I was writing my first book about a girl and her horse. For years I enjoyed crafting the adventures of Bexleigh and Buster, until it dawned on me to craft this story in real life. Of course, I would have to buy a horse. On February 15th, 2022 I bought a horse! I had no idea what I was doing, I prayed, did as much research as I possibly could and gave my dream to God. It was a very difficult first year together with fiascoes, injuries, and difficult people but I’ve learned many life lessons I can’t wait to share with you!
As a mentor to teen girls, I have seen first-hand the stress these girls carry. My greatest joy is to help them navigate, grow, and see them become strong, faithful young women. My dream to connect girls to horses through horse experience retreats was born from what I was given as a young struggling girl. The affection of my horse and healing power of our adventures was so incredible, I can’t wait to provide this for others.
